เมื่อต้นปี 2011 คุณแม่(อายุ 61ปี)มีอาการใส่รองเท้าแตะแล้วหลุด พูดบางทีไม่เป็นประโยค ช่วยเหลือตัวเองได้เป็นปกติ อาบน้ำ ทานข้าวได้เอง ได้ไป MRI ที่ ศูนย์ MRI ขอนแก่นผลอ่านออกมา
ตามนี้

"IMPRESSION : -- A tiny lesion at superior aspect of insular cortex of
RT.temporal lobe ; possible an old lacunar infraction
- No other brain parenchymal lesions
- Brain atrophy at both frontal regions
Other;unremarkable."

  ไปพบหมอ สถาบันประสาท หมอให้ MRI Brain อีกครั้ง ผลออกมาตามด้านล่าง ปัจจุบันรับประทานยา พาร์กินสัน ป้องกันการแข็งเกร็งของกล้ามเนื้อ

Findings; The study shows asymmetric mild to moderate atrophy of bilateral
fronto-parietal lobes, which is more atrophy on the left side, associated with
cortical thining and without abnormal signal change.
Small bilateral basal ganglia,
which reveals hyposignal intensity on EPT GRE T2W,is observed.The pars
compacta of substantia nigra could not be identified.The mid brain is small,of
which the A-P diameter is 13 mm.Prominent bilateral lateral and third ventricles
especially of left more than right bilateral frontal horns are observed.No abnormal
enhancement and no abnormal vascular structure are detected.
     The orbits,the paranasal sinuses,the nasopharynx and the mastoid
air-cells are unremarkable.
Impression ; - Findings are described above,Corticobasal degeneration is first considered.
The differential dignoses are Parkinson disease,progressive supranuclear bulbar palsy and
less probable fronto-temporal dementia.

ตั้งแต่มกราคม 2012 ถึงตอนนี้ อาการก็  ช่วยเหลือตัวเองได้น้อยลง อาบน้ำเองไม่ได้ แปรงฟันเองไม่ได้ เข้าห้องน้ำเองไม่ได้ ถอดกางเกงเองลำบาก เนื่องจากมือข้างขวา อ่อนแรงและเหมือนผู้ป่วยคิดว่าไม่มีมือข้างนี้อยู่
ทานข้าวลำบาก พูดไม่ได้ได้แต่คำสั้นๆ เช่น อืม ไม่
อยากเรียนถามคะว่าอาการประมาณนี้และผล MRI ออกมาแบบนี้เป็นโรคเกี่ยวกับสมองแบบไหนและก็มีทางที่จะกลับมาช่วยตัวเองได้บ้างไหมหากกายภาพหรือมีการฝึกคะหรือว่าสมองจะเสื่อมลงเรื่อยๆไม่สามรถทำงานทดแทนกันได้นะคะ
